GRANDDADDY PURPLE

Origins and Genetics

Granddaddy Purple traces its lineage back to the iconic Purple Urkle and Big Bud strains.

Purple Urkle contributes its signature berry aroma and soothing indica effects, while Big Bud adds robust yields and dense, resin-coated flowers.

Developed in San Francisco in 2003, GDP quickly became a cannabis classic, blending the best traits of American and European genetics.

Big Bud, one of GDP’s parent strains, was originally crafted in the 1970s and is a descendant of Afghani, Northern Lights, and Skunk #1. Its reputation for high yields and quality flowers makes it an essential part of GDP’s genetic makeup.
