What The New Federal Seed Law Means For Your Seed Buying Rights

You have probably seen the banner that says “Congress is stealing your seed buying rights.” I wrote that. That is the loud version so it cuts through the noise. This page is the calm version, where I slow down and walk you through what is actually happening, when it hits, and what we are doing about it on our side.

What changed

I am going to keep this short. A new federal law got passed that makes it illegal to sell or ship viable high THC cannabis seeds in the United States after a certain date. The law starts treating those seeds like the plant, not like a gray area collectible.

Here are the only dates that really matter for us:

  • Now through November 2026 you can still buy collectible cannabis seeds and have them shipped inside the United States under the current rules.
  • After November 2026 our current business model is dead. We cannot legally keep selling the same seeds in the same way, so Multiverse Beans shuts down around November 13, 2026.

I am not your lawyer and this is not legal advice. I am a grower who reads the bill, talks to people who know more than me, and then explains it in plain language. This is why Multiverse Beans is closing and why you keep seeing “Final Season” all over the 4/20 stuff.

What this means for you

If you grow at home or collect seeds in the United States, here is what this actually means for you.

  • You will not be able to order high THC cannabis seeds from US seed banks the way you do today once the law fully kicks in.
  • Your choices shrink to whatever your state allows, plus whatever underground stuff pops up on the other side of this.
  • The window to build a real seed vault from places you already trust is measured in months, not “someday when I feel like it.”

That is why the copy has some urgency to it. I am not trying to scare you. I am trying to be honest about the fact that this chapter really does have an end date.

Why we decided to run a Final Season instead of quietly disappearing

We could have quietly sold through the warehouse, turned the site off, and called it a day. Instead, we chose to treat the last stretch like a final season and squeeze as much value out of it for you as we can.

How to think about building your vault

If you want to be intentional about this instead of panic buying random packs, here is one way to think about it.

  • Pick your “never worry again” number. For some people that is 100 seeds. For others it is 420 or 1,500. There is no right answer, there is just “future you feels calm.”
  • Pick formats that match your real life. If you run one or two tents a year, you do not need a farm stash. If you have more space and time, the bigger bundles start to make more sense.
  • Mix your line‑up. Have some daily driver strains, some dessert or fruit fun stuff, and a few weirdos that are just for you.
  • Store them like you care. Cool, dark, dry, and labeled. A messy box of mystery vials is not a real vault, it is a headache.

Why we still avoid fear based messaging

1. Sponsor

The Multiverse Beans 420K Vault Giveback Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by MV Ascend LLC, with a mailing address at 7435 S Eastern Ave Ste 105 PMB 304, Las Vegas, NV 89123 (the “Sponsor”).

2. Sweepstakes Period

The Sweepstakes begins on April 1, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time and ends on April 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Sponsor’s server clock is the official timekeeping device for this Sweepstakes.

3. Eligibility

The Sweepstakes is open only to natural persons who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, who are 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) and members of the same household (whether related or not) are not eligible to enter or win.

4. How to Enter

There are two ways to enter the Sweepstakes during the Sweepstakes Period: (A) purchase at the Website, and (B) free online entry. Limit of one free-entry form submission per person per day during the Sweepstakes Period.

A. Entry with Purchase

During the Sweepstakes Period, visit Sponsor’s website at https://multiversebeans.com (the “Website”) and place an order that is accepted and completed by Sponsor. Each eligible order placed during the Sweepstakes Period will receive entries according to the order total and any qualifying bundles purchased as set out below.

Order Total Entry Tiers

  • Any order in April 2026: 1 entry
  • Orders $210 or more: 5 entries
  • Orders $420 to $629: 15 entries
  • Orders $630 to $839: 20 entries

Bundle Entry Tiers

  • “420 seeds for $420” bundle: 50 additional entries
  • “1,500 seeds for $997” bundle: 100 additional entries

Bundle entries and order total entries stack automatically for that order. No coupon code is required. Entries are calculated from the final order total and qualifying products after checkout. Orders that are cancelled, refunded, or charged back before winners are drawn will not be eligible for entries.

B. Free Online Entry (No Purchase Necessary)

During the Sweepstakes Period, you may enter without making a purchase by visiting https://multiversebeans.com/420k-vault-giveback and completing the free entry form with the requested information (full name, valid email address, confirmation that you are 21 or older, and confirmation of U.S. residency).

Upon successful submission you will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. Free Entries are treated as entries at the base tier. Free Entries do not receive additional multiplier entries based on dollar thresholds or bundles. However, all Purchase Entries and Free Entries are treated equally for Silver and Bronze prize drawings.

C. Silver/Bronze vs. Grand/Gold Drawing Treatment

For Silver and Bronze prize drawings, Sponsor will treat each eligible order and each valid Free Entry Form submission as one entry in the drawing pool, regardless of any entry multipliers. This is intended to keep odds for Silver and Bronze prizes comparable between purchasers and free entrants.

For Grand and Gold prize drawings, Sponsor will count entries in accordance with the order total tiers and bundle tiers described above. A purchase does not increase the chances of winning Silver or Bronze prizes, but does increase the number of entries for Grand and Gold prize drawings.

D. Entry Limits

Limit of one (1) Free Entry Form submission per person per calendar day during the Sweepstakes Period. Limit of one (1) set of Purchase Entries per order. There is no overall maximum number of entries per person, subject to these per-order and per-day limits. Entries generated by script, macro, bot, or other automated means are void.

5. Prizes and Approximate Retail Values

There will be a total of 420 winners across four prize tiers. Seed values are based on Sponsor’s standard retail price of approximately $15 per seed.

Grand Prizes (3 winners)

  • 420 seeds (ARV $6,300) plus one Grower’s Choice ROI-FF-650 grow light (MSRP approximately $1,099)
  • ARV per Grand Prize: approximately $7,399
  • Total ARV for all Grand Prizes: approximately $22,197

Gold Prizes (17 winners)

  • 420 seeds each (ARV approximately $6,300)
  • Total ARV for all Gold Prizes: approximately $107,100

Silver Prizes (78 winners)

  • One 100-seed Preservation bundle each (ARV approximately $1,500)
  • Total ARV for all Silver Prizes: approximately $117,000

Bronze Prizes (322 winners)

  • One 50-seed Preservation bundle each (ARV approximately $750)
  • Total ARV for all Bronze Prizes: approximately $241,500

Total ARV of all prizes: approximately $487,797 (approximately $484,500 in seeds and $3,297 in grow lights). Actual values may vary based on final strain mix, retail pricing, and prize fulfillment at the time of award.

Seeds are provided for collectible and educational purposes only. Sponsor does not represent that use, germination, or cultivation of seeds is legal in any particular jurisdiction. Winners are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws in their jurisdiction. No cash alternative, substitution, or transfer of any prize is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize becomes unavailable.

6. Winner Selection and Notification

A. Daily Silver and Bronze Drawings

On or about each calendar day during the Sweepstakes Period, Sponsor will conduct random drawings to select approximately three (3) Silver Prize winners and approximately eleven (11) Bronze Prize winners for that day, for a total of 78 Silver and 322 Bronze winners over the entire Sweepstakes Period.

For these drawings, each eligible order and each valid Free Entry Form submission will be treated as one entry regardless of any entry multipliers. Silver and Bronze prizes will typically be added to outgoing shipments corresponding to the winner’s order. No separate shipment is guaranteed for Silver and Bronze prizes.

B. End of Sweepstakes Grand and Gold Drawings

On or about May 13, 2026, after the end of the Sweepstakes Period, Sponsor will conduct random drawings to select three (3) potential Grand Prize winners and seventeen (17) potential Gold Prize winners. For these drawings, entries will be weighted in accordance with the order total tiers and bundle tiers described in Section 4A.

C. Notification

Potential winners will be notified by email at the address associated with their order or Free Entry Form. If a potential winner does not respond within seven (7) days of the first notification attempt, fails to provide any requested eligibility or tax documentation, is found to be ineligible, or cannot accept the prize for any reason, Sponsor may disqualify that potential winner and select an alternate from the remaining eligible entries.

7. Odds of Winning

Odds of winning a Silver or Bronze prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period and the number of prizes awarded each day. Odds of winning a Grand or Gold prize depend on the total number of eligible entries and the number of weighted entries assigned to each entrant.

8. Taxes and Reporting

All federal, state, and local taxes and any other costs and expenses associated with acceptance and use of a prize not expressly stated as provided herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Sponsor may be required to issue an IRS Form 1099 or other tax reporting document for the ARV of any prize awarded. Winners are advised to consult with their own tax professionals regarding any tax liabilities.

9. General Conditions

By participating, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes.

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process, attempts to obtain entries by fraudulent or automated means, violates these Official Rules, or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

10. Release and Limitation of Liability

By entering, each entrant releases and holds harmless Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or relating to participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, receipt, use, or misuse of any prize.

The Released Parties are not responsible for: (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Website users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with the Sweepstakes; (ii) technical failures of any kind; (iii) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process; (iv) technical or human error in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or (v) any injury or damage to persons or property caused directly or indirectly from participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of any prize.

11. Publicity

Except where prohibited, by accepting a prize, each winner grants Sponsor and its designees the right to use winner’s name, city and state, likeness, and prize information for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, without additional compensation or notification.

12. Privacy

Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at https://multiversebeans.com/privacy-policy/. By entering the Sweepstakes, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in these Official Rules and in the Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

The Sweepstakes and these Official Rules are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada.

14. Winners List

For a list of winners (first name, last initial, and state), send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: MV Ascend LLC, 7435 S Eastern Ave Ste 105 PMB 304, Las Vegas, NV 89123 after May 30, 2026 and before July 29, 2026. Please indicate “420K Vault Giveback Sweepstakes Winners List” on the outside of the envelope.
